What's happening at UC?

Recent anti-Semitic and anti-Israel incidents at UC Davis and other UC campuses have generated considerable concern about the well-being of Jewish students on California campuses.

 

"Are Jewish Students Safe on California Campuses?"

Two UC academics describe the influence of Muslim extremist groups on college campuses, in California and across the United States.  Al Awda, an organization that "opposes Israel's right to exist; supports groups on the U.S. State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations, including Hamas and Hezb'allah; organizes numerous rallies, demonstrations, and events to demonize Israel and her supporters; and actively encourages boycott, divestment, and sanctions in order to isolate and economically strangle the Jewish state," conducts events and partners with Muslim, pro-Palestinian/anti-Israeli student groups, particularly the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).  The Muslim Brotherhood, which supports Sharia law throughout the world by way of Jihad, established the Muslim Student Union (MSU) and Muslim Student Association (MSA) networks, operating on nearly 600 campuses across the country.  While these groups generate a threatening atmosphere for Jewish students, college administrators are slow to address the real threat caused by their violent associations.

Groups Representing Jewish Students Appeal to UC President Yudof to Take Action

A dozen organizations representing Jewish and Zionist organizations have sent a letter to the President of the University of California, Mark Yudof, highlighting bigotry faced by Jewish students on UC campuses, and asking him to specify anti-Semitism among other problems being addressed by the University-wide Advisory Council on Campus Climate, Culture and Inclusion.  Click here to read the full text.
