Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate hearing your thoughts. As a public institution, we host speakers of all stripes, including those whose views may be odious to some members of the community. For better or worse, the principles of freedom of expression and free exchange of ideas give Mr. Goldstone the right to share his views with willing listeners, no matter how strongly some might disagree with him. We truly regret that Mr. Goldstone’s appearance is upsetting to you and that we cannot give you a response that you will find more satisfactory. Nonetheless, I would like to thank you once again for writing.
